A music video paying tribute to 80s and 90s Japanese animation, of which I'm a huge fan (in french: Albator, Goldorak, Ulysse 31, Gunbuster, Macross, Venus Wars...).
I used Midjourney to create backgrounds and character designs, then animated them like traditional cels in After Effects (scrolling, parallax, zoom, shaking, titles...) to get the feeling of 2D hand drawn animation. Some animations are also made with RunwayML and used as cels over backgrounds.
I made the music from various parts produced with Suno.
I then recorded the video on a VHS tape by connecting my PC on a VCR, then digitize the video back on the PC to obtain this low analog quality with color bleeding typical of VHS.
